Auburn Mental Health Unit, Office of Mental Health (OMH)

Minimum Education :

  • Possession of a license and current registration as a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) in New York State.
  • Master's degree.

Job Duties :

  • Provide therapeutic services to patients in a primary therapist role.
  • Conduct individual therapy sessions.
  • Complete mental health assessments and documentation, including :
  • Core History
  • Suicide Assessments / Risk Assessments
  • Weekly / Monthly Progress Notes
  • Treatment Plans
  • Discharge Plans
  • Facilitate group therapy sessions as needed.
  • Adhere to OMH policies and procedures.

    • Preferred Skills :

  • Works well with a treatment team.
  • Able to manage in a stressful environment.
  • Comfortable in assessing crisis situations.

    • Miscellaneous Information :

  • Work Schedule : Monday Friday; 8 : 00 AM-4 : 00 PM.
  • Free parking facility available.
  • Limited local bus, taxi / uber services.
  • Initial orientation for both OMH and DOCCS will be provided.
  • Interviews will be conducted in-person or online based on the availability.
