Position : Senior HVAC Service Technician

Role and Responsibilities :

  • Support senior HVAC technicians in daily tasks.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and troubleshoot light commercial HVAC equipment.
  • Conduct scheduled maintenance, such as replacing belts and filters, and identify potential issues.
  • Log detailed information about HVAC systems, including refrigerant and electrical circuits, equipment conditions, and anomalies.
  • Perform brazing, leak checks, and evacuation processes.
  • Work with commercial HVAC systems, including packaged units over 25 tons, split systems, heat pumps, water-source heat pumps, and motor controls.
  • Collaborate with Team Leads, coordination staff, sales staff, and customers.
  • Complete equipment log sheets for projects and upload them into the database.
  • Handle tasks efficiently, minimizing call-backs.
  • Respond promptly to supervisors and dispatchers.
  • Accurately complete all required paperwork.
  • Follow safe work practices.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications and Requirements :

  • Universal EPA certification.
  • Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings and equipment specifications.
  • Expert troubleshooting skills for complex electrical systems, including high- and low-voltage components.
  • Proficient in maintaining and repairing various HVAC equipment, including large packaged units, VRF systems, air-cooled chillers, cooling towers, water pumps, and VFDs.
  • Strong understanding of airflow systems, duct design, and control strategies.
  • Knowledge of DDC control components and pneumatic systems.
  • Solid grasp of refrigerant cycles, heating components, and air distribution systems.
  • Ability to communicate technical issues clearly to non-technical customers.
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Must pass a background check.
  • Physically able to meet the demands of the job, including frequent lifting, standing, crouching, and exposure to environmental factors such as extreme weather, noise, and hazardous materials.
