About us, AKA Who We "Be"
Nexus was created with one intention: to help heal trauma and suffering by tackling unfinished business to redirect the trajectory of teens' lives.
The Nexus team is small, but mighty and made up of therapists, medical and psychiatric providers, educators, an executive chef, nurses, and techs who are passionate about providing high-quality, down to earth care to young people and their families. We believe every teen is capable of building a meaningful life. Our aim is for each teen and family that walks through our doors is to leave equipped with tools, support and awareness to create more fulfilled lives.
We want to bridge the gap between teens and their families in order to help bring hope, healing and recovery to the system around them.
We are searching for an Educator who will be responsible for the management, oversight and completion of daily education for each resident.
The Educator works closely with the Executive Director and Director of Education and Family Services relating to the educational and tutoring services provided.
Treatment Approach AKA What We "Do"
Nexus is a 10 bed residential treatment facility for teens, aged 12-17. We are currently female only residents. We will be expanding to another facility where we hope the Educator will grow with us full time!
We provide individual, group and family therapy to teens and their families during what is some of the most difficult times of their lives.
We use a person centered, trauma informed approach of meeting each teen and their family where they are at using modalities such as Motivational Interviewing, ACT, CBT, DBT, Family Systems, Mindfulness and more.
Qualifications AKA About You!
If you have worked with teens, you know they can sniff out people who are not genuine, so that is the first qualification!
Be willing to be vulnerable, creative and passionate about the education and learning of each resident.
Be open to learn and grow with the team, and help the team grow! Humble curiosity is one of our key values.
Ultimately, we need an Educator to join our team who isn't set on the status quo of cookie cutter approaches and wants to help us redefine GREAT adolescent treatment and making learning a priority.
