Duties
- Conduct thorough examinations of animals to assess their health status.
- Diagnose and treat injuries, illnesses, and diseases in pets.
- Perform surgeries and administer vaccinations as needed.
- Maintain accurate medical records for each animal treated.
- Educate pet owners on proper pet care, nutrition, and preventive health measures.
- Collaborate with veterinary technicians and support staff to ensure high-quality care.
- Stay updated on advancements in veterinary medicine and participate in continuing education opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards in animal care.
Qualifications
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited veterinary school.
- Valid veterinary license to practice in Texas.
- Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal physiology, anatomy, and husbandry practices.
- Experience in animal handling, particularly with dogs and other domestic pets.
- Proficiency in aseptic techniques and overall animal care practices.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with pet owners and team members.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
