Position Overview
The Assistant Engineer position is intended as an entry level engineering position. This position will require significant direction regarding methodology and strategy from the Engineering Director and more experienced department personnel to performing duties. This position is required to provide progress updates to the Engineering Director and execute duties related to the following department responsibilities : Capital Improvement Program; Water Service Planning for Developers, Governmental Agency Coordination; and Operations Support.

Work Location and Schedule
What You'll Do
This position will be willing and able to perform the following duties and others as assigned :
Manage engineering consultant and construction contractor contracts (RFQs, RFPs, bidding, change orders, RFIs).
Develop engineering plans and specifications for water infrastructure projects.
Water pumps, pipelines, reservoirs, wells, buildings, motors, engines.
Identify project needs and background of existing facilities.
Perform hydraulic calculations (pipe velocity, head loss, pump curves, fire flow).
Organize and lead meetings with stakeholders (agencies, contractors, customers).
