What are the responsibilities and job description for the Business Development Representative position at NFI Industries?
Overview
The Business Development Representative is an entry-level position. The person in this role is responsible for identifying new business opportunities, scheduling meetings with decision makers, and building a portfolio of clients. A new Business Development Representative will be given in-depth training on the sales process and how to effectively position NFI's services to create value for potential customers. A person in this role is expected to be making a high volume of calls to new prospective businesses and scheduling meetings; in which a senior level manager will be included to aid in properly developing the opportunity and pushing to land the business. This role is highly focused on learning and development. This role reports to the Director of Sales.
Responsibilities
- Utilizing a variety of tools to find new companies that could be a good fit for our services
- Identifying the proper contact at each company to call on
- Researching the company and contact in order to develop the most effective messaging possible for the initial outreach
- Dialing the phone 50 times per day to try and land scheduled meetings with decision makers
- Utilizing email, text, and LinkedIn messaging techniques to improve the chances of successfully setting meetings
- Working closely with members of the management team to conduct discovery conversations with decision makers to identify opportunities for new business
- Studying the sales process and mastering the language used when speaking with prospective customers
- Learning effective questioning techniques and how to adapt to different personality styles
- Becoming an expert on a multitude of logistic service lines and how we differentiate from the competition with each
- Actively seek out additional, outside resources to further your learning and development of sales and logistics
- Maintaining an organized and updated pipeline of prospects
- Utilizing Salesforce and other tools to manage your outreach to prospects and keep notes on all interactions
