What are the responsibilities and job description for the Transportation Management Optimization Analyst position at NFI Industries?
The TM Optimization Analyst is responsible for working with Transportation Management IT & operations to effectively configure operational software that allows for high level execution. This position reports to the Director of Engineering.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with operations and Senior TM leadership to understand the business requirements needed to accurately perform an initial system configuration for a new account in the TMS.
- Work closely with IT to ensure the TMS configuration/solution is reflected accurately in the data management system and producing the desired result
- Own, support, and maintain TMS constraints for existing customers based on new client requirements including, but not limited to, rates, business criteria, and system parameters
- Create and delivery of training content for operator onboarding for the TMS
- Actively collaborates with the business analysts and engineers to assist in optimization exercises for both, new and existing customers
- Work closely with the operations, IT, and engineering groups to accurately document internal processes and workflows needed to keep the CRM software up to date
- Creation and delivery of training content for the CRM software
- Draft TM RFP Proposals
- Present suggested system changes to NFI operators, engineers, and management
Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Math, Statistics, Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Business, Supply Chain, Information Systems, or other quantitative field of study
- Minimum 0-3 years of experience in any of the following areas; transportation management, dedicated fleet operations, distribution center management, materials handling, decision support systems and technology.
- Demonstrated data manipulation skills
- Excellent communications skills.
- Basic knowledge of supply chain strategies and methodologies
- Well organized with high attention to detail and accuracy
- Demonstrated ability to learn technical skills quickly
- Understanding of optimization and/or simulation algorithms is a plus
- Database skills, especially through SQL or Access is a plus
- Strong computer proficiency in MS Office applications
