NFI Massachusetts, Inc., a leading non-profit human services organization, is looking for a creative and dynamic Activities Coordinator to join our dedicated team at our secure Intensive Residential Treatment Program in Westborough, MA.
Our program supports adolescents referred by the Department of Mental Health after inpatient hospitalization, offering a blend of individual, group, family, and milieu therapy. As the Activities Coordinator, you will be at the heart of creating engaging and therapeutic experiences, leading both small and large group activities. You'll work closely with direct care staff to harness their skills, expand possibilities, and integrate fun into the daily milieu, helping youth heal, thrive, and build essential life skills.
What You'll Do:
- Create Joy: Develop fun, safe, and clinically appropriate daily activities that bring laughter, movement, and relaxation to each youth.
- Tailor Experiences: Work with youth and their families to design recreational, arts, sports, and extracurricular activities that reflect their interests, cultural background, and faith traditions.
- Build Life Skills: Provide coaching for youth to practice navigating recreational and community resources outside the program.
- Collaborate with Clinical Team: Partner with the multi-disciplinary team to ensure that every activity supports the therapeutic goals of the youth.
- Host Events: Lead family-friendly events, fun groups, and celebrations that integrate youth into a supportive community.
- Support Transitions: Work closely with the transition specialist to make sure joyful, pro-social activities continue in the youth’s discharge plan and home life.
- Lead Group Activities: Organize and run a variety of daily group activities, from recreational sports to creative arts, ensuring each session is both fun and therapeutic.
- Empower Staff: Collaborate with direct care staff to enhance and expand activity options, promoting a lively and engaging environment.

What We're Looking For:
- At least 2 years of experience working with adolescents or in a similar role.
- A valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle to transport youth to events and activities.
- Exceptional communication skills—both written and verbal.
- High energy, superior interpersonal skills, and a team-oriented mindset.
- Availability for evening and weekend hours.
- Fully vaccinated or willing to be vaccinated against COVID-19.
Pay Rate: $22/hour
Benefits for full time employees include: Medical Insurance, Dental Insurance, Vision Insurance, 403(b) Retirement Plan, 3 weeks paid vacation time, 11 paid holidays and Tuition reimbursement up to $2500 per fiscal year.
