Youth MOVE NH, a program hosted by NFI North is pleased to announce that we are hiring a new Youth Peer Support Specialist to bolster our capacity to provide Youth Peer Support to young people struggling with mental and behavioral health challenges across the state. We will be looking to interview and hire a full-time position in the Lakes Region and statewide to expand our geographic reach.
The Youth Peer Support Specialist (YPSS) is a direct service position designed to provide an empathetic connection from a place of similar lived experience and an example of success overcoming mental and behavioral health challenges. The YPSS role also serves to assist the youth with whom they work in identifying their personal strengths and finding clinical and community services and supports. The relationship between YPSS and youth is less formal than a mentorship but contains more formal boundaries than a supportive friendship. The fulfillment of this job requires significant creativity and flexibility to meet the needs of each individual youth.
Applicant must be between 18-26 years old, possess lived experience having received mental/behavioral health services or having experienced a mental or behavioral health challenge, and have access to personal transportation as position requires frequent travel. The ideal candidate would have previous experience working or volunteering in direct service work with young people, or have worked or studied in social work, psychology, or a related field.
NFI North offers comprehensive and affordable Medical, Dental, Prescription and Vision coverage. Generous paid time off including 3 weeks of vacation, sick time and 11 paid holidays. We also offer a 4-day work week (10-hour days), tuition reimbursement, retirement match, company paid Life Insurance and Long-Term Disability and much more! In addition to excellent training, we offer supportive environments that allow for creativity, a sense of empowerment and opportunities for advancement.
At NFI North diversity is in our roots and we continue to bring people and cultures together
