Warehouse Team Lead

Position Summary

The Warehouse Lead operates as a hands-on leader, serving and motivating warehouse employees, leading by example, and fostering a positive team-building atmosphere. They will perform daily warehouse duties as expected of a level III associate. In the absence of the Supervisor, the Warehouse Lead will perform all day-to-day functions of the Supervisor including security of the building.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

• Ensure a culture of safety by enforcing safety standards and adhering to operational procedures
• Lead by example to ensure that all procedures and best practices are consistently followed
• Perform daily warehouse duties as directed by the Supervisor
• Assist with direction of associates and management of daily workflow within the framework of daily assignment
• Support other team members by being an expert in appropriate systems- i.e. WMS, Oracle
• Assist in training of new associates as required
• Assist in leading continuous improvement initiatives
• Assist in implementing lean objectives and 5S activities
• Responsible for the day-to-day operation of the assigned area in the absence of the PDC Supervisor
• Other duties as assigned by Supervisor/Manager
  
  
  

Requirements

• HS Diploma or GED
• 3 years of warehouse experience, distribution environment preferred
• Previous experience in a leadership role preferred
• Proficient in Microsoft Suite, TMS, and Oracle experience a plus
• Ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure
• Strong people skills including communication, conflict management, empathy, active listening, negotiation, positive attitude, ability to mediate disputes, being tolerant of differences, and teamwork
• Material handling equipment experience, including forklift, reach truck, and cherry picker required
• Strong planning and organizational skills
• Good problem solving and reasoning skills
