NFPA Global Solutions (NGS) was founded in 2024 to improve fire, life, and electrical safety worldwide. By offering compliance solutions, digital products, and advisory services, NGS helps mitigate risks, enhance safety, and boost operational efficiency for businesses and governments of all shapes and sizes. NGS is a separate fully owned NFPA corporation and will introduce new offerings via acquisitions and the launch of new businesses.
NGS is seeking to expand the resources in the Corporate Development Department. The Corporate Development Specialist will be involved in all aspects of deal work including pipeline building, developing, and maintaining deal models, managing deal diligence, and evaluation of investment yields NPV, IRR, cash payback and profitability of potential targets, utilizing Excel.
You will play a key role in managing the work streams while also managing interns who would assist with Corporate Development initiatives and managing external diligence advisors.
This position requires strong executive presence, interpersonal and leadership skills, entailing considerable exposure to the NGS leadership team, external bankers, and the leadership teams of acquisitions we would seek to acquire. This position is remote, with occasional needs to attend on site meetings at NGS HQ and at targeted prospects office locations.
The successful candidate will be organized, tenacious, enthusiastic, demonstrate high energy and the ability to negotiate effectively. The candidate will must have strong communications skills and previous experience in working with acquisitions.
PRIMARY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
- Researching, profiling, filtering and prospecting to build a pipeline of potential prospects.
- Work proactively, independently, and tenaciously in developing and maintain financial deal models in excel that are updated with inputs from business leaders, diligence findings and risk profiles.
- Organize, co-ordinate and lead diligence teams. Including negotiating with diligence partners on scope of work statements, tracking overall progress of diligence work, summarizing findings, and associated financial impacts.
- Manage simultaneous work streams with the seller to include diligence materials, NGS diligence partners, NGS advisors and NGS business leaders to reach a signing and closing.
- Lead meetings, to present in front of the NGS leadership team and demonstrate executive presence.
- Execute and support initiatives to find, develop and orchestrate buy side M&A transactions.
- Provide analytical support to senior NGS leadership.
- Lead deal teams.
- Involvement with deal negotiations, and definitive agreements.
