Full-time Position
Ngage New Mexico is seeking applications for an Early Childhood Education Coordinator. Ngage New Mexico is a nonprofit organization that serves as a backbone organization for a prenatal-to-career education initiative called the Success Partnership, which serves Doña Ana County (DAC) and uses Collective Impact as its strategy. As the primary support organization, Ngage facilitates community meetings and convenings, provides logistical support, and coordinates strategy for making community-wide change possible. Ngage works with our partners in the DAC Early Childhood Education (ECE) Coalition to implement an Early Childhood Education plan for the county. We support our network of partners in the K-12, post-secondary education, and career readiness sectors. Additionally, Ngage does capacity-building work, to ensure a strong and vibrant nonprofit community for Doña Ana County.
This position offers the opportunity to become deeply engaged with the Doña Ana County Early Childhood Education Coalition. The Coordinator will work alongside the Lead DAC ECE Coalition Coordinator to operationalize the DAC ECE Education plan in the southern part of Doña Ana County, particularly the Gadsden and south county region. The Coordinator will plan, develop, coordinate, and implement objectives of the DAC ECE Plan through collaboration with the Lead DAC ECE Coalition Coordinator, community partners, and under the supervision of Ngage leadership. The ideal candidate will have experience working with community and nonprofit organizations, and a passion for education with experience in Early Childhood. The Coordinator will support a variety of tasks, including the following:
- Act as a liaison between Ngage, the DAC ECE Coalition (particularly the Gadsden Chapter), partners, stakeholders, and the general public
- In cooperation with the lead DAC ECE Coordinator, plan, coordinate, organize, and execute programming of the Gadsden Chapter of the DAC ECE Coalition in southern Doña Ana County, to align strategies and objectives; but not limited to professional development opportunities for Educators, Early Childhood Education experiences for children, and connecting families with young children to necessary resources
- This position requires work with numerous local, and statewide coalitions on Ngage's early childhood education advocacy and policy strategies
- Oversee Mundo de Juguetes; the Gadsden area Toy Lending Library
- Collaborate with the Success Partnership Communications Team to ensure effective communications around projects
- Develop and cultivate positive mutually supportive relationships with community stakeholders, including but not limited to leaders in education, business, faith, nonprofit, philanthropic, and civic sectors
- Participate in statewide Early Childhood initiatives, and all NM Early Childhood Education & Care Department convenings where the Coordinator’s participation is required
- Assist in the coordination of on-going Coalition meetings & Action Network meetings
- Support the overall mission of Ngage New Mexico, and the Success Partnership which includes program coordination in alignment with the Lead DAC ECE Coordinator beyond DAC ECE Coalition and other initiatives
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Possess valid driver’s license, insurance, and have transportation
- Minimum associate’s degree in a related field with 1 to 2 years related experience in Early Childhood, Education or Project Management OR, relevant combination of education and experience.
- Personally committed to the mission, values, and programs of Ngage and the Success Partnership
- Multicultural, equity-focused orientation; understands and respects the diversity of families’ economic, linguistic, or cultural backgrounds and situations
- Knowledge of the various communities of southern DAC (including the colonias)
- Knowledge of DAC, including community resources, services, referral processes
- Knowledge of early childhood education and prenatal development, including transitions from ECE to K-12
- Engage with community partners and stakeholders to collaborate on shared advocacy and policy goals
- The position requires excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate with various audiences
- The position will require travel, primarily throughout southern DAC, but also occasional statewide travel
- Strong public speaking skills, ability to serve as an ambassador for the DAC ECE Coalition
- Independent problem-solver who is comfortable asking for guidance and/or taking direction
- Talent in balancing small program details while maintaining a larger, strategic vision
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Ability to travel the county on a regular basis and other areas of the state when necessary (primarily in-state, mileage is reimbursed when using own vehicle)
- Ability to work from home and office-based settings as needed
- Proficient in computer applications, and able to learn new systems
- Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills
- Able to lift 25 pounds
- Evening and weekend hours are required
Preferred:
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
- Familiar with Collective Impact
- Experience in creating and implementing educational programming for children and families
- Experience in policy and advocacy
The Coordinator is a full-time position with benefits, beginning immediately. The salary range for the position is $42,000-$46,000 a year, commensurate with experience and education.
