Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Yard Driver to join our team. The Yard Driver will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of trailers and containers within the yard, ensuring that all operations run smoothly. This role requires a strong understanding of various truck types and the ability to operate them safely in a busy environment.
Responsibilities
- Safely maneuver and position trailers, including roll-off trucks, dump trucks, flatbeds, and tractor-trailers within the yard.
- Perform routine inspections of vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition before operation.
- Operate manual transmission vehicles and forklifts as needed for loading and unloading tasks.
- Maintain accurate records of vehicle movements and any maintenance performed.
- Collaborate with yard personnel to coordinate the efficient flow of traffic within the yard.
- Follow all safety protocols and regulations while driving and operating equipment.
- Assist in route driving when necessary to support delivery operations.
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial driving with a valid driver's license.
- Proficiency in operating various types of trucks, including roll-off, dump truck, flatbed, tractor-trailer, and forklifts.
- Strong understanding of manual transmission operation.
- Excellent route driving skills with a focus on safety and efficiency.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining safety standards.
Must be able to pass E-Verify requirements
Positions to Fill:
Monday- Thursday 4:00pm- 2:00am OR
Friday- Sunday 5:00am- 5:00pm
