Overview
We are seeking a high performing system engineer to join our infrastructure engineering group. The infrastructure engineering group designs and implements the company’s global network, servers (Linux and Windows), security, virtualization, and more. You will be afforded the opportunity to dive into open source technologies and match them with company business processes. This role will focus on new technology and advancements to the company operations through technology.
The successful candidate will have a diverse background in infrastructure related technologies and passion to learn.
Key Responsibilities
Design, Implement, and maintain the core infrastructure of NHK’s information system.
Write scripts to automate processes.
Ensure systems meet security requirements and policies.
Active monitoring of the overall IT system to ensure availability and high performance of delivered IT services.
Improvement of backup and replication systems.
Design and implement new systems to meet company needs.
Provide technical support for complex hardware and software issues that may arise.
Research the latest technologies and best practices; recommend technology solutions that meet NHK’s business requirements.
Improve and design communications systems (Email, VOIP, IM, etc.).
Develop and maintain system documentation.
Learn, Implement, and expand AI based systems and technology.
Demonstrated Abilities

Ability to communicate complex technical information verbally and in writing.
Ability to set priorities, manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Strong administration skills with the ability to solve complex problems.
Demonstrated ability to respond to emergency situations effectively.

High level of technical knowledge.
Required
Bachelor's degree or higher in Information technology, computer science, or business.
8+ years Linux administration/engineering using RHEL, CentOS, or Fedora.
8+ years virtualization (RHEV, oVirt, VMWare, KVM).
8+ years storage technologies (SAMBA, NFS, iSCSI, LVM, TrueNAS).
8+ years scripting (BASH, Python, PHP).
4+ years Coding (React, JavaScript, API).
8+ years email systems (Zimbra, Exchange, or similar).
8+ years Networking (Routing, VLANs, security, Firewall, VPN, Wireless).
8+ years backup experience.
8+ years VOIP experience.
8+ years monitoring experience.
Must be able to travel up to 25%.
Preferred
Technical certifications.
Enterprise level experience.
