What You Will Do
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Business Manager within the Primary Care Team. This is a key role within Primary Care Services and will report directly to the Senior Manager to ensure that business performance targets and clinical governance quality standards are consistently met across all contractor functions. The post is required to work collaboratively and in partnership with other team members within a fast paced environment.
Primary Care Services is delivered via a range of Independent Contractors and managed services providing General Medical, Dental, Community Optometry and Community Pharmacy Services. The service ensures appropriate contractual processes are in place to achieve appropriate governance in accordance with all relevant Regulations and Directions issued by Scottish Ministers. As well as continuing to ensure delivery of the above services to meet the needs of our citizens, Primary Care is also responsible for the continued implementation of the new GMS Contract 2018.

Knowledge, Training And/or Experience Required To Do The Job
You must be suitably qualified with significant business management experience. You should be able to demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills and have the ability to work on your own initiative. You should demonstrate in-depth understanding of governance principles and public accountability in the health and care sector. You should also be able to demonstrate the ability to prioritise workload and be able to organise and be efficient in your working.
You must be able to demonstrate effective leadership and management skills as the post directly line manages all administration staff within the General Medical Services Contracting team. You should be able to provide evidence of personal development and a willingness to undertake any training considered appropriate for the role.
