What are the responsibilities and job description for the Consultant Ophthalmologist position at NHS Professionals?
Doctors Direct have an exciting opportunity for a Consultant to work with us at East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust in Ophthalmology.
Your key responsibilities will be to :
- Perform advanced surgical procedures, including cataract surgery, retinal surgery, or other subspecialty-specific surgeries.
- Provide outpatient consultations, including diagnostics, treatment plans, and follow-up care.
- Lead operating lists for elective and emergency ophthalmic surgeries.
- Provide expertise in laser treatments, intravitreal injections, and other ophthalmic procedures.
- Participate in the on-call rota for ophthalmology, managing acute cases such as ocular trauma, retinal detachment, or severe infections.
