Nurse Consultant in Specialist Palliative Care
We have a rare and exciting vacancy for a committed and passionate Nurse Consultant to join us, rated outstanding by the CQC, as we continue to shape, develop and deliver quality specialist palliative and end of life care in Lincolnshire. Our consultant led 11 bedded inpatient unit in Lincoln cares for around 250-300 patients a year, and 4 multidisciplinary community teams delivering care across the county to around 3000 patients.
The postholder will :
- Lead the provision and development of expert innovative and evidence-based nursing and clinical care within the Hospice, at both an organisational and strategic level, working closely with all senior clinicians.
- Act as an expert and collaborative advanced practitioner who can provide advice, education and support for patients, families, and members of the multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Work autonomously as part of the specialist Multidisciplinary team; their practice will be framed within the four pillars of advanced clinical practice : clinical practice, leadership & management, education & research. They will manage and support the specialist nurse team including advanced clinical practitioners.
- Be required to build close, effective and sustainable working relationships with a range of professionals involved in providing and commissioning specialist palliative and end of life care.
- Liaise / network with national nurse consultant, palliative care peers and colleagues for organisational, professional and personal development.
Main duties of the job
Qualifications and Experience :
Applications are welcome from candidates with up-to-date credible experience in palliative and end of life care with a Masters degree in specialist or advanced clinical practice, and who are Non-Medical Prescribers.
