This is a contracted position, 20 – 30 hours per month.
The Niagara County Department of Mental Health & Substance Abuse Services operates a wide range of clinical treatment services including a two outpatient Office of Mental Health Licensed Clinics serving children, teens and adults.
We are currently seeking a qualified health professional who has experience working in mental health and/or substance abuse treatment programs to conduct utilization review and quality assurance audits.
Audit responsibilities include: the review, within the Electronic Health Record, of a percentage of intake, admission, continued stay, and discharge cases for medical necessity criteria and standards of care; the reporting of findings for each case/clinician; the tracking of corrective actions; and the summarization and reporting of data to the UR/QA committee. UR/QA auditor may meet with program staff to review individual concern and/or trends.
The UR/QA auditor participates in the UR/QA committee presenting the summary report and tracking and reporting on UR/QA trends. The Auditor also may make recommendations to the committee for necessary staff training or other actions to address trends.
UR/QA auditor must maintain familiarity with applicable regulations and will work with Clinic Management and Department Administration to adjust or change UR/QA process in response to changes in regulations and standards of care.
Qualifications:
Possession of one of the following: Current New York State license as a Master of Social Work, Mental Health Counselor, Marriage and Family Therapist, Creative Arts Therapist, or Psychoanalyst; OR Possession of a current New York State Registered Professional Nurse license.
Two (2) or more years of experience working in an OMH or OASAS licensed treatment program (outpatient, PROS/CDT, inpatient) and familiarity with OMH 598 and 599 regulations and standards of care.
Strong preference will be given to Niagara County, NY candidates who have previous experience conducting quality assurance and compliance audits.
