Job Overview
The Niagara Crossing Hotel & Spa located in the quaint village of Lewiston NY is seeking dedicated team members to provide exceptional service for all our guests! Housekeeping is responsible for the overall cleanliness of the hotel.
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Housekeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining cleanliness and order within our facilities, ensuring a welcoming and hygienic environment for all guests and staff.
Duties
Cleaning: Dust, vacuum, mop, and sweep rooms, restrooms, and other areas
Sanitizing: Clean and sanitize rooms and common areas
Stocking: Replenish supplies like towels, toiletries, and other amenities
Inspecting: Regularly inspect assigned areas to ensure they meet housekeeping standards
Maintaining inventory: Keep an inventory of housekeeping supplies and check it regularly
Reporting: Report necessary maintenance items to the appropriate department, turn all lost and found items into your supervisor with appropriate log of location where found and knowing procedures
Following procedures: Follow departmental policies and procedures, including health and safety regulations
Responding to requests: Respond to special requests from guests, such as for extra towels or cribs
Assisting other departments: Assist other departments when needed to ensure optimal service to guests
Complaints: Investigates complaints regarding housekeeping service and equipment, and takes corrective action.
Training: Ability to train new staff following departmental policies and procedures
Laundry: Wash, dry, fold and stock linens and towels.
Ensure guest comments to be 95% favorable.

Housekeepers should be able to follow schedules and meet cleanliness standards

- Knowledge of hospitality standards and practices.
- Experience in industrial cleaning or custodial work is preferred.
- Familiarity with hotel housekeeping operations is a plus.
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to clean efficiently and thoroughly.
- Proficient in floor care techniques including sweeping, mopping, and carpet cleaning.
- Effective communication skills to interact positively with guests and team members.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE : No prior experience is necessary, but may require training.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to guests, and other employees and managers of the organization.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk. The employee frequently is required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
