Job Description

The Foundations and Pedagogy Department at Niagara University invites applications for a full time, tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor rank, beginning in August 2025.

Job Requirements

The successful applicant will have a doctoral degree in education or a closely related field and experience teaching in P-12 schools, and higher education. The department has needs for faculty with expertise in teaching general methods, educational research, and foundations coursework. As such, candidates with notable experience in these topics will be preferred. Candidates should demonstrate success or the potential for excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service. ABDs with strong qualifications and an anticipated completion date prior to August 2026 will be considered, but timely degree conferral would be required for rank and continued employment.

Job Duties

As a tenure-track faculty member, the hired candidate will be required to teach three courses in each of the fall and spring semesters, publish impactful scholarly research and participate in service (committees, advisement, etc.) to the department, college and university. Attendance at meetings and holding regular office hours will also be expected. The courses assigned may be at the graduate or undergraduate level, and may include other areas as department needs dictate. They may be a mix of traditional (face-to-face) and online formats, in the daytime, evenings, or on Saturdays. Primary responsibilities for this position will be in the U.S.A.
