What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part Time Music Instructor - Piano Musicianship position at niagaracc-suny?
SUNY Niagara has a need for a part time Music Instructor for our Piano Musicianship course.This course is taught in person in a classroom setting on our Sanborn, NY campus. Class instruction for beginning keyboard music majors designed to teach the concepts and fundamentals needed to perform at the piano. Content is focused on improving keyboard skills through sight-reading, scales, arpeggiations, harmonization’s, accompanying, and improvising. Proper piano technique, and posture will be addressed as well as appropriate literature for successful placement into a baccalaureate music program.Group piano lessons to include individual and ensemble performances, and assignments combined with lecture and practical applications of music theory as it relates to the piano keyboard. Students will be expected to sing and play upon instructor request and at all performances.Remuneration for persons teaching at least 3 credits in a semester: $915 per lecture hour/$819 per lab hour.In order to build and maintain an active pool of qualified candidates to meet our present and future needs for this position, SUNY Niagara will accept applications on a continuous basis.
