SUNY Niagara has a need for a part time Technical Assistant to work in our Welding department within our Business & STEM division.The Technical Assistant will be responsible for providing technical support in the maintenance, repair, and operation / setup of machines and equipment within the Welding lab during class times. The primary focus of this role is ensuring the functionality and safety of welding and machining equipment, as well as assisting students and faculty with their technical needs. The technical assistant will assist the teaching faculty in managing the Technology laboratories, preparation spaces, equipment, tools and storage spaces to ensure function and compliance with safety standards. This position requires someone to have a strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety protocols as well as excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. The rate of pay is based on the level of education the candidate possesses. For a Bachelor’s degree or lower the rate of pay will be $21.22 per hour. For a Master’s degree or higher the rate of pay will be $23.34 per hour.
