The Assembler I position at Backer Hotwatt, Inc. is responsible for performing various assembly tasks to manufacture products and components. Working under supervision, the Assembler I follows oral and/or written work instructions along with drawings to assemble parts, operate machinery, use hand tools, and ensure quality standards are met.
Key Responsibilities:
- Read, interpret, and follow assembly instructions, blueprints, diagrams, and other specifications to ensure accurate assembly of parts.
- Perform assembly tasks using hand tools, power tools, and machinery according to established procedures and guidelines.
- Enforce quality control at the workstation by inspecting components prior to assembling, inspect 1st piece and seek sign off from area Group Leader to ensure they meet quality standards before proceeding.
- Record and report any defects or issues to the area supervisor.
- At the end of every workday, clean the work area, maintain tools and equipment, to ensure proper functionality and safety.
- Collaborate with team members, supervisors, and other departments to improve processes, resolve issues, and achieve production goals.
- Adhere to safety protocols, guidelines, and procedures to maintain a safe working environment for oneself and others.
- Complete production and quality documentation accurately and timely as required.
What We Are Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Good dexterity.
- Basic computer skills.
- Previous experience in assembly or manufacturing preferred but not required.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and assembly instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and quality with a willingness to learn and follow instructions closely.
- Able to safely use basic hand tools, power tools, and machinery.
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Fabrication or machining experience is a plus
