JOB TITLE: Electrical Engineer
LOCATION: Gallatin, TN
NIC Global, a leading manufacturer of sheet metal and mechanical assemblies is currently seeking a qualified applicant to fill this open position at our Gallatin, TN facility. NIC Global is a single-source manufacturer providing turn-key mechanical and electromechanical assembly, expert sheet metal fabrication, and global sourcing of metal and plastic components. We provide products to great customers such as Philips, PACCAR (Kenworth & Peterbilt), Siemens, Medtronic, Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, and Leviton to name a few. Corporately based in Woodinville Washington, we also have manufacturing facilities in Denton, TX and Chillicothe, Ohio. SUMMARY
The perfect candidate for this position will install and maintain electrical and control systems, as well as participate in the design and implementation of new systems, within a manufacturing environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES
- Troubleshoot and repair all electrical problems on production equipment and controls.
- Assist Maintenance Technicians on any electrical control, motion control, vision camera, robotic and PLC equipment.
- Install electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Create electrical schematics.
- Program and troubleshoot Robots, PLC’s, AC & DC drives, electric motors, motor controls, cables and relays.
- Use of PLC and HMI for troubleshooting.
- Provide electrical expertise including technical review for in-house modifications, additions or major repairs.
- As this position progresses it will include:
- Design of automated systems, new standalone processes and/or additions to existing equipment as improvement to safety, quality or productivity.
- Integration of automated systems as part of a team. Role could be Robotic, PLC/HMI, motion systems, vision systems, measurement systems, safety or other as required.
- All integration projects will adhere to NIC automation formats, Robotic, PLC and HMI programming structures, safety standard and documentation creation.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Electrical Engineering Degree or equivalent with specialized training and at least 5-7 years of experience in related field.
- Interpret, draw and maintain electrical schematics.
- Must possess good leadership, adaptive, and technical skills.
- Knowledge and understanding of manufacturing equipment, machinery, and systems.
- The ability to work quickly and under pressure.
- An awareness and respect of health and safety regulations and protocol.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Ability to lift 25lbs with or without accommodations.
- Most work is performed indoors, but not always in a temperature-controlled environment.
- Protective safety clothing and equipment will be required for some jobs.
