What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shipping Coordinator-S position at NIC Global?
SUMMARY
The Shipping Coordinator works with multiple departments within the organization and with outside entities to ensure that parts are shipped according to customer demand.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES
- Responsible for leading the shipping, receiving, outside processing and inventory control activities
- Communicates necessary information in daily and weekly meetings.
- Participates in and leads efforts to continuously improve the operations and goals of the department
- Other Responsibilities include:
- Assessing/Planning materials (mainly packaging supplies) and equipment (forklifts, trucks, scan guns, etc) for department.
- Scheduling carriers for shipments/deliveries.
- Processing ASNs.
- Interfacing with customer required logistics systems.
- Interfacing with accounting regarding issues as needed.
- Coordinates driver availability to schedule shipments and/or dispatch trucks on route to ensure timely delivery of products to customers.
- Dispatch drivers for local deliveries and/or drive to make these deliveries
- Prepare shipping reports; pick lists and labels for shipping clerks.
- Prepare pack lists, customs paperwork; submit AESDirect filing for international shipment and bills of lading for items being shipped.
- Communicate with freight companies to schedule freight pick-ups.
- Create UPS World Ship and Fed Ex shipments online.
- Communicate with Production Supervisor and leads for status on items that need to ship daily.
- May lead the work of less experienced clerks.
- Assist packagers when necessary and or when time allows.
- Utilize the computer system (ERP) to receive finished goods on hand.
- Maintain inventory locations and quantities in the finished goods area.

QUALIFICATIONS
- High school level education or equivalent and specialized training which may be obtained in vocational courses or on the job.
- Great customer service skills a must.
- Experience in a warehouse environment.
- Strong computer skills; ERP experience a plus.
- Detail-oriented with good organizational skills.
- Previous experience with shipping, deliveries, and freight.
- Other necessary skills: self-motivated, creative problem solver, enthusiasm, team oriented behaviors, leadership skills.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Ability to lift 50bs with or without accommodations.
