Senior Estimator
The Senior Estimator, under the direction of the Chief Estimator, is responsible for overseeing and managing the overall administration of project estimates. This role includes supervisory and training responsibilities for Estimator I and II positions. The Senior Estimator should have demonstrated success in the Estimator II role or an equivalent position, showcasing a strong ability to manage complex estimates and coordinate with internal and external teams effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Preconstruction Activities: Actively participate in preconstruction planning to ensure project feasibility and alignment with company goals.
- Lead Estimating Functions: Manage and execute all estimating functions for projects in various sectors such as Life Science, Aviation & Aerospace, Industrial & Manufacturing, Food & Beverage, and Data Centers.
- Constructability and Plan Reviews: Review plans and specifications for potential constructability issues, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Value Engineering: Lead and perform value engineering to propose cost-effective solutions without compromising quality.
- Bid Packages: Create, manage, and refine bid packages for subcontractors, ensuring clarity and competitiveness.
- Project Management: Oversee and track multiple estimating projects, ensuring adherence to deadlines and budget requirements.
- Subcontractor Prequalification: Assist in the prequalification of subcontractors to ensure they meet company standards.
Qualifications
- Education: BA/BS degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of two (2) years in the Estimator II role or equivalent, with on-site experience in building construction.
- Familiarity with operations management software and specialty applications in construction.
- Leadership: Proven leadership experience with the ability to manage and mentor junior estimators.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact with internal and external stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Specialized Markets: Experience estimating for Life Science, Aviation & Aerospace, Industrial & Manufacturing, Food & Beverage, or Data Center projects.
- Certifications: Professional certifications such as Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) or similar industry-recognized qualifications.
- Advanced Technology Skills: Familiarity with additional estimating software, 3D modeling tools, or other construction-related technologies.
Salary : $150,000 - $180,000
