What are the responsibilities and job description for the Knife Ring/Mold Plate Technician - Plant 2 (D Shift 7PM-730AM) position at Nichiha USA, Inc?
PRINCIPLE ACTIVITIES:
The following lists the principle activities associated with the position of Knife Ring / Mold Plate Technician.
- Grind wood chip using plane machinery to produce wood flakes
- Adjust and sharpen plane blades as required
- Load the mixing platform with wood flakes to be used for production line
- Prepare and perform maintenance of molding plate
- Ensure molding plate to be free of particles of dust before placing raw material to make patterns
- Move plates with forklift
- Grind defective plates by using hand tools to reuse as raw material
- Prepare and maintain records of raw material received, weights of raw material used, plane blades usage information, defected plates count, and other pertinent information required
- Report machinery equipment damage or malfunction to Supervisor
- Preforms other related duties as assigned
EQUIPMENT KNOWLEDGE:
- Knife Ring
- Conveyors
- Forklift
SAFETY:
- Understand and follow all safety procedures
- Current on all safety trainings
- Wear all required PPE when necessary (steel toe boots, safety glasses, ear plugs)
- Understand Lock Out Tag Out procedures for assigned areas
- Perform duties according to OSHA guidelines, policies and procedures
- Complete General Plan Safety Training within the first 8 weeks
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to lift at least 50lbs and to push-pull up to 75lbs
- Must be able to work long periods while continuously standing, twisting, bending, reaching, and stooping.
- Must be able to work environment which is dusty and noisy
- Must be able to safely walk and work around Must be able to work required shift and work overtime with short notice machinery
- Must be able to work in plant environment with extreme seasonal temperatures
