Overview
We are seeking an experienced personal injury paralegal bi-lingual in Spanish for a growing legal practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting attorneys in the preparation and management of personal injury cases . This position requires independence, strong organizational skills, legal knowledge, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. The Personal Injury Paralegal will assist in various tasks related to case management, research, billing and client communication.
Duties
- Conduct thorough legal research using tools such as Lexis-Nexis to gather relevant case law and statutes.
- Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
- Assist attorneys in preparing for trials by organizing exhibits and evidence.
- Maintain case files and ensure all documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
- Communicate with clients to gather information and provide updates on case progress.
- Coordinate with medical professionals to obtain necessary records and reports.
- Manage deadlines for filings and court appearances to ensure compliance with legal procedures.
- Provide executive administrative support as needed, including scheduling appointments and managing correspondence.
Experience
- Previous experience as a paralegal or in a legal administrative role is preferred.
- Fluency in Spanish is strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with personal injury law is highly desirable; experience in criminal law is a plus.
- Proficiency in legal software such as PCLaw is beneficial.
- Strong writing skills are essential for drafting documents and correspondence.
- Ability to work independently.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
