JOB SUMMARY:
The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing and directing the day-to-day activities of the accounting department to uphold precision, productivity, and adherence to accounting standards and regulations. This position involves guiding a team, offering assistance and encouragement to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. The Accounting Manager will play a key role in refining financial processes, implementing internal controls, and supporting strategic financial initiatives in collaboration with senior leadership.

Essential Job Functions:
- Lead and manage the accounting team, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and adherence to deadlines.
- Communicate job expectations, monitor performance, and provide feedback to staff.
- Conduct regular team meetings and individual coaching sessions to drive professional development and performance improvement.
- Collaborate with the COO to ensure seamless financial operations and process efficiency.
- Oversee and review reconciliations, invoicing, customer payments, vendor payments, and debt management.
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, including preparation of financial statements and supporting documentation.
- Develop and refine accounting and finance processes, ensuring compliance with internal controls and industry best practices.
- Identify and mitigate financial risks through proactive analysis and implementation of appropriate procedures.
- Assist with year-end preparation, reporting, and audits.
- Oversee payroll-related functions, including time records, paid time off tracking, and payroll processing, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal accounting regulations.
- Lead process improvement initiatives to enhance workflow, reporting accuracy, and efficiency within the department.
- Act as a key liaison between accounting and other departments, facilitating cross-functional collaboration.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field with progressively increasing levels of responsibility.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
- Comfortable presenting financial results to senior leadership.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changes in accounting regulations and business needs.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach, develop, and hold a team accountable.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail and ability to effectively manage multiple priorities.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly to non-accounting stakeholders.
- Proficiency in accounting software and financial reporting tools (e.g., QuickBooks, Excel, or other relevant systems).
Salary : $100,000 - $125,000
