Job Duties

Responsibility / Duty
Confers with the general public, students, faculty and staff regarding routing information and answers to questions. Duties include collecting charges on student accounts for tuition, room, board, etc. as necessary, and distributing student payroll checks. Responsible for ensuring the accurate coding of funds received by the University. Such coding is used as the basis for cash receipt vouchers used to record the receipt of such funds into the financial records system. Responsible for checking indebtedness for graduate assistants and direct deposit payments for student payroll. Responsible for checking indebtedness and identification of individuals receiving any check from this office. Responsible for balancing funds collected daily through the financial and student records systems and receipts written daily.

Responsible for the maintenance of files in the office which includes but is not limited to student indebtedness and verifying the accuracy of amounts due in the computerized records system. Responsible for performing various duties within the framework of the computerized registration system, including but not limited to encoding student indebtedness, posting payments received, miscellaneous fee charges, etc. Registration duties include awarding fee exemptions and processing third party contracts through the Banner system. Answer the telephone, respond to requests for information concerning fees, payments, registration, etc.

Responsible for sending emails to students regarding various functions of the Fee Collection Center, including but not limited to email reminders for registration, payment plans, indebtedness, IRS requirements, etc. throughout the semester. Assist with the processing and verification of 1098T information.

Responsible for assisting in the processing of accounts to be sent to the Attorney General’s Office for the State of Louisiana for collection. This will include notifications as required, compiling the report and verifying the information to be sent, and coding the student accounts to show the account has been submitted for collection.

Perform other duties as required for the office to function efficiently, including but not limited to, serving as backup for other positions in the office.

Responsible for balancing Continuing Education payments with the Banner system through Touchnet Marketplace. Verifying reports match and information was processed to Banner as it should be.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Two years of experience or training in clerical work.

EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 15 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as six months of experience.
