Position Details
- Responsible to the Department Head/UG Coordinator
- Guide and evaluate learning activities.
- Preparation of course outlines for assigned courses.
- Keep and report student attendance.
- Post office hours on office door and provide a copy of schedule to administrative staff.
- Report mid-semester and final grades to the Department Head at designated time for processing to administration.
- Recommend innovative methods of augmenting student learning.
- Recommend additions and deletions of library holdings and textbooks.
- Recommend utilization of internship facilities to enhance learning.
- Assume such related assigned duties as contribute to the integral functioning of the program to which assigned.
- Arrange with the Department Head in event of inability to meet assignment, i.e., absence from campus.
- Actively participate in faculty meetings and committee activities.
- Assist in establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with fellow- faculty members and associated service personnel.
- Provide academic advising for an assigned group of students.
- Maintain appropriate student records and files.
- Assume such related, assigned duties as contributing to the functioning of the Department.
- Adhere to appropriate procedures and policies as outlined in the NSU Policy and Procedure Manual.
- Complete annual administrative evaluations
- Actively recruit potential culinary students to the programs offered.
- Participate in activities requiring faculty such as graduation, culinary fundraising, faculty meetings, Faculty Senate when elected, campus committees, and department committees, etc.
- Assume such related assigned duties as contribute to appropriate University functioning, including the maintenance of good public relations.
- Accountable for ensuring that affirmative action, equal opportunity, and diversity are integrally tied to all actions and decisions in areas of responsibility.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Current ServSafe sanitation certification or equivalent.
- Five years of professional experience in culinary arts or related fields.
- Maintenance and documentation of current arts or related fields.
- Significant teaching experience in a formal higher education setting or culinary school setting.
