Shared Ice Services (“SIS”), a newly created company that will provide essential support services to both of our two operating companies – Nichols Brothers Boat Builders and Everett Ship Repair. SIS, together these two operating companies comprise the heft and might of Ice Cap Holdings’ presence in the maritime community of the Pacific Northwest.
We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Coordinator to help with a range of key Human Resource functions to support our busy HR / Recruiting department located in Freeland on Whidbey Island. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing administrative support for the department, assisting with the hiring process, scheduling new employee orientations, and entering a high volume of employment records into our HRIS.

What You will Do:
- Maintain employee files in HRIS and other data collection systems
- Assist in conducting annual open enrollment; rolling out benefits offerings; organizing and completing required compliance documentation.
- Assist in adequate tracking and compliance of leaves.
- Assist in executing an effective employee onboarding system.
- Maintain employment law postings for accuracy and adherence to established guidelines and applicable federal and state laws.
- Create Personal Action Forms
- Helps create and administer compensation program, and performance appraisal process.
- Assist employees with benefits and policy questions.
- Manage and administer COBRA
- Support and assist Safety managers in both yards in managing AEU Claims and Light Duty / Return to Work program.
- Takes in employee issues and concerns / service requests and resolves or escalated to proper person.
- Monitors HR and Jobs mailboxes for applications, faxes, queries. Answers or forwards to proper person
- May be requested to assist with occasional travel reservations or help with expense reimbursement filings but serves more as resource directing employees to forms and processes, they can use.
- Schedules interviews with applicants and appropriate supervisors
- Occasionally attends Job Fairs with Apprenticeship Coordinator
- Maintains Library of current Job Descriptions for posting on careers sites and for control documents required for quality initiatives such as MSRA and ABR.
- Assist HR Manager in partnering closely with department and remote site administrative staff and supervisors to ensure existing and new employee experiences are seamlessly positive.
- Assist HR Manager with tactical communications with contract temporary labor suppliers and our Operating Departments.
What You Bring to Our Team
- 2 years' experience supporting an HR organization
- Strong interpersonal communication skills with proven success in building relationships with a wide array of employees at different levels of the organization.
- Proven ability to meet deadlines and multi-task and work with a “service” orientation.
- The ability to work overtime as needed, this position needs to be flexible.
- Proficiency in Paycom preferred or other HRIS system with ability to learn and develop such proficiency as required.
- Proven ability to:

- Must be compute savvy and have strong Microsoft Office Suites computer skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Management or similar preferred; however, the right individual with a high school diploma or GED will be considered depending on experience and qualifications.
Pay Rate
- Non-Exempt Hourly role of 40 hours a week on site. $25.00 - $31.00 per hour based on experience.
