Graduate Assistant in Advancement and Alumni Relations
DEPARTMENT: Advancement/ Alumni Relations
REPORTS TO: Director of the Nichols Fund
JOB SUMMARY:
The Graduate Assistant will support both the advancement and alumni relations functions of engagement, fundraising, and stewardship. The GA must be available for regular office hours as well as for occasional weekend and evening meetings and events.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Create/produce regular content for the department’s social media channels, track data, and maintain the communications calendar.
- Support the department’s graphic design and video production needs.
- Produce monthly e-newsletter and accompanying broadcast.
- Maintain the department’s website, including creating special landing pages.
- Oversee the Student Alumni Society and serve as a liaison with the student body, which may include soliciting and organizing student volunteers for events and activities and facilitating senior class giving.
- Assist in the coordination and execution of department events, e.g., Homecoming, alumni receptions, including production of collateral material, mailing, registration management, and detail support, and photography.
- Oversee scholarship recipient stewardship, including collecting information and writing bios
- Assist fundraising efforts, such as special campaigns and thank-you videos.
- Assist with CRM (Slate) functions/database updates as needed.
