What are the responsibilities and job description for the Principal Nichols Elementary & District Preschool Coordinator 2025-2026 position at Nichols Elementary School?
This position serves as principal of Nichols Elementary and serves as District Preschool Coordinator through collaboration with Director of Elementary Education and Director of Special Education. Nichols Elementary is the smallest elementary school in Bullitt County Public Schools, located in West Point, KY, with approxmiately 100 students in Grades K-5.
This position directs and coordinates education, administrative, and counseling activities of schools and promotes the educational development of all students.
This position will also be responsible for overseeing 12 preschool classrooms at all other elementary schools. This position also supervises three preschool consultants who provide instructional and compliance support/coaching to preschool teachers. In addition, this position will work in collaboration with OVEC Headstart and First Steps. This role provides leadership, guidance, and recommendations for preschool programming, decision-making, and guidelines in consultation with district leadership for elementary prinicpals and overall preschool programming.
Qualifications
- Must hold or be able to obtain a Kentucky Elementary Principal Certification
- Three (3) years of administrative experience at the Elementary level and experience with early childhood including special education preferred
- Must possess strong, participatory leadership skills, believe in involvement of the community in the schools and relate to a variety of audiences in a positive manner
- Applicant must have a thorough understanding of elementary school curricula and the developmental needs of children
- Candidates must have a minimum of three (3) years elementary school teaching experience
This position is for the 2025-2026 school year.
Salary based on board approved salary schedule for the 2025-2026 school year.
