Summary :
- Provides technical, quality control and administrative support to Superintendents, Project Engineers and Project Managers on job sites.
This is a temporary, full time position located at our jobsite near Brooklyn, NY. The project is expected to last 10 months.
Essential Functions :
Ensures that all Nicholson and OSHA safety regulations are followed and enforcedEnsures that all Nicholson and OSHA safety regulations arefollowed and enforced
Performs field quality control testsPrepares and manage quality control and production recordsOrders materials, writes purchase orders, and tracksinventory
Runs small work crews (technical tasks like water testing,load testing, etc.)
Researches and resolves drawing interpretation problems, conflicts, interferences, and errorsPerforms field surveys and resolves geometry issuesPrepares drawings and sketches to support construction workAssists in preparation of change order documentation and claim analysisEnsures all installation follows Nicholson Quality Control ManualRequirements :
Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering or related degree is required along with 0-3 years of construction equipment / techniques (i.e. drawings, specifications, building materials, surveying, design, or geotechnical work)Prior construction site work experience a plus.Basic knowledge of bidding and job costing proceduresKnowledgeable in structural and geotechnical designs related to our techniquesProficient with MS Word, Excel and OutlookConverse effectively using both verbal and written communication.Make decisions and assume accountabilityConcentrate on tasksDemonstrate ability to manage stress and emotions as related to the workplaceAttention to detailIdentify and resolve conflictAssess safety and riskPhysical Requirements :
