Nickerson Talent Solutions is searching for a Director of Finance and Accounting for a full-time direct hire in Mesa, AZ.
Summary:
Directs the day-to-day financial activities of the U.S. organization by performing the following duties personally or through other finance/accounting team members.
Educations/Work Experience Requirements:
- Four-year college degree in accounting, finance or business administration required and minimum 3 years’ experience working in a Director of Finance role.
- At least 15 years’ experience working as a Manager/Supervisor in the accounting/finance arena.
- Must be a U.S Citizen.
Certifications:
- CPA a plus
Skills and Qualifications
- Preferred experience working with RAMCO Accounting software, but solid working experience with a similar accounting software is required at a minimum, and would be considered.
- Ability to apply and logically evaluate advanced mathematical concepts, including frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variances, correlation of techniques, sampling theory and factor analysis.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional and accounting journals, technical publications and government accounting regulations.
- Must also be able to read, analyze, interpret and propose sound changes, as applicable, to legal contracts and agreements related to the company.
- Must possess superior ability to write reports, business correspondence, internal communications and procedure manuals and to create monthly, quarterly and annual accounting reports, statements and other financial worksheets or reports.
- Ability to effectively and persuasively present written and oral information and respond to questions from the Company’s Board of Directors, managers, clients, customers and employees.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
- Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel and Outlook)
- Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Oversee and manage all accounting, financial reporting, contracts management, and compliance activity for program accounting and finance functions
- Provide strategic business leadership for the division for both government and commercial customers.
- Hands-on leadership in developing and maintaining accurate financial forecasts.
- Ensure adherence to internal control processes and certifications to ensure on-going compliance and financial statement integrity as required and related external reporting standards.
- Lead monthly, quarterly and annual operating financial planning and reporting activity for the Division.
- Lead program execution, cost control and analysis activities for existing contracts.
- Develop and lead operational action plans to reduce working capital balances consistent with commitments in the annual operating financial plan.
- Ensure compliance with all statutory and contractual commitments with special focus on business systems rules to ensure adequacy in passing all DCAA/DCMA audits.
- Support internal/ external audit activities as needed.
- Support business proposal development activity, cost estimating and economic evaluation of investment alternatives, as required. •
- Oversee staffing, performance management and coaching/development of the Finance, Accounting, and Contracts Management professional staff.

- Communication of safety risks to employees and their roles and responsibilities related to these risks.

- Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
- Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
- Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.
