Job Description
Pediatric Emergency Medicine Specialists and Pediatricians with Emergency Medicine Experience Sought in Miami
The position offers a clinical environment for diagnosing, treating, and managing pediatric patients in a multidisciplinary setting. This includes exposure to general and high-acuity pediatric cases. The role also involves teaching and supervision of medical residents and provides opportunities for research and publishing.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply knowledge of growth and development in customer interactions and treatment.
- Continuously educate oneself through reading journals, CME credits, and conferences.
- Coordinate and deliver monthly inservices to meet staff and resident needs.
- Coordinate follow-up tests, lab studies, and patient phone calls.
- Provide direct clinical services, including history and physical examinations, recording pertinent patient data, developing treatment plans, writing orders for laboratory studies and x-rays, performing patient/parent teaching, and administering medications.
- Make suggestions for department improvement.
- Participate in Performance Improvement, Research, and Publishing.
- Teach and supervise medical students and residents.
Qualifications
- Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.) from an accredited medical school.
- Current state medical license and good standing with the medical board.
- American Heart Association BLS certification.
Requirements
This is a full-time position at Baptist Health South Florida's pediatric emergency departments in Miami and Homestead. Shifts are 12-hour days and overnights with mid-shifts every day.
