Key Responsibilities
- Applies knowledge of growth and development in patient interactions and treatment.
- Continues self-education through reading journals, attending conferences, and pursuing CME credits.
- Develops and delivers educational programs for staff and residents.
- Covers follow-up tasks, including test coordination and patient phone calls.
- Provides direct patient care, including exams, data interpretation, treatment planning, and medication administration.
- Makes suggestions for department improvement to the Department Director or attending staff.
- Participates in Performance Improvement, Research, and Publishing initiatives.
- Contributes to teaching medical students and residents.
- Takes part in the call schedule as assigned.
Requirements
- Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.) from an accredited medical school.
- Current state medical license in good standing with the medical board.
- American Heart Association BLS certification, maintained throughout employment.
