Pediatric Emergency Medicine Medical Director Job Description
The Pediatric Emergency Medicine Medical Director at Nicklaus Children's Hospital is a critical role that requires strong leadership skills, excellent clinical expertise, and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care. As a member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the operations of our pediatric emergency department, working closely with hospital staff to develop protocols and procedures, and collaborating with colleagues to identify opportunities for improvement.
Main Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure high-quality patient care
- Provide medical direction and oversight to the pediatric emergency department
- Collaborate with hospital staff to develop and implement quality improvement initiatives
- Work closely with the Medical Group and facility credentialing office to ensure timely processing of credentialing materials
- Participate in the development of departmental surveys and participate in Joint Commission and AHCA reviews
- Assist in the planning activities and the development of goals for initiatives directed by the Section Chief
Requirements:
- Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathy from an accredited medical school
- Current state medical license and in good standing with the medical board
- American Heart Association BLS certification and maintain active and in good standing throughout employment
