Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Field Calibration Technician to join our team in Houston, TX. In this role, you will play an essential part in ensuring the precision and reliability of a wide range of measuring and testing instruments used in manufacturing, engineering, research, and beyond. Key Responsibilities:
- Perform on-site and in-lab calibrations of a variety of instruments and equipment following established procedures and specifications.
- Troubleshoot, adjust, and repair instruments to maintain precise measurements.
- Accurately document calibration results, procedures, and any deviations.
- Collaborate with clients to discuss calibration needs, schedule services, and provide technical support.
- Maintain calibration standards and equipment, ensuring regular cleaning, calibration, and maintenance of reference standards.
- Work closely with the Lab Manager on scheduling, workload management, and internal tasks.
- Adhere to ISO/IEC 17025:2015 quality standards and safety protocols at all times.
- Demonstrate proficiency with calibration equipment, such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, pressure gauges, temperature controllers, and torque wrenches.
- Interpret technical documentation, including schematics, technical drawings, and manuals.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Experience in data analysis and statistical methods for evaluating calibration results.
- Strong problem-solving skills to identify and resolve technical issues quickly.
- Flexibility to work with various types of equipment across diverse industries.
- Excellent customer service skills, focusing on building and maintaining positive client relationships.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and calibration software applications.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development in calibration and instrumentation.
Requirements:
- Associate degree or technical certification in electronics, engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in calibration, instrumentation, or electronics (preferred).
- Military calibration experience (PMEL or TMDE Training) is a plus.
- Solid understanding of measurement principles and calibration techniques.
- Excellent troubleshooting and attention to detail.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage with clients effectively.
- Ability to work independently, manage time efficiently, and prioritize tasks.
- Physically capable of lifting 25-50 lbs. occasionally.
- Willingness to travel to client sites as needed.
- Commitment to maintaining safety and quality standards.
