JOBThe Innovation Partner will assist the Vice President of Innovation and team by serving as a strategic advisor for innovative initiatives. This position will build relationships through collaboration and partnerships while supporting innovative ideas, projects, and initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional organizational skills, a proactive approach, and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion. The Innovation Partner will promote employee engagement by helping college team members develop and manage projects within the college, using innovative ideas to solve recurring problems by capitalizing on the creative ideas of the staff.EXAMPLE OF DUTIESThe following duties are normal for this position and should not be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.Project Coordination : Assist in the planning, communication, and execution of Innovation projects and initiatives with internal and external stakeholders. Coordinate events and workshops hosted by the Innovation team. Facilitate collaboration among team members and other departments to develop and manage projects that address recurring problems and leverage staff creativity.Communication & Collaboration : Foster effective communication within the Innovation team and with other departments. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Academics, Student Services, Marketing, and Operations, to align innovation initiatives with business goals. Facilitate workshops and brainstorming sessions to generate new ideas and foster an innovative culture. Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders / partners.Partnership Support : Assist in identifying and pursuing funding opportunities, including grants, sponsorships, and partnerships. Support the preparation of grant applications and partnership proposals. Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including faculty, staff, students, industry partners, and community organizations. Engage in networking activities to promote innovation across the college.Administrative Support : Assist in budget preparation, tracking, reporting, and requests for proposals. Coordinate Innovation activities, including scheduling meetings, appointments, and travel arrangements for the VP of Innovation. Assist with team correspondence, reports, presentations, and other documents. Handle incoming communications and emails, prioritizing and responding as appropriate. Maintain organized records and files, both physical and digital. Prepare meeting agendas, take minutes, and follow up on action items.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities : Project Management : Proven ability to plan, execute, and oversee projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget. Communication : Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to interact effectively with employees, students, funding agencies, and the public. Customer Service : Exceptional customer service skills; maintain excellent relationships with internal and external customers. Independence & Reporting : Ability to work independently, prepare accurate reports, and meet deadlines. Adaptability : Ability to work through interruptions and under pressure. Teamwork : Work effectively in a team environment. Technology Proficiency : Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and other relevant software. Organizational Skills : Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills; strong attention to detail. Ethical Conduct : Demonstrate ethical behavior in all work aspects. Confidentiality & Professionalism : Maintain confidentiality and professionalism. Time Management : Exceptional time management skills.Physical Demands : The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be exposed to normal office conditions and usual office equipment such as telephone, personal computer, printers / copiers, reports, and files. The employee will be constantly required to sit, talk, hear, and type / write. The employee must occasionally bend or squat and lift and / or push up to 25 pounds of general office items. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, far, and field of vision.
