Position Overview:
As an IT Support Specialist, you will support the IT department by handling on-site user requests, ensuring compliance with ticketing procedures, and assisting with inventory management. Key Responsibilities:
- User Support:
- Respond to on-site user requests and provide technical assistance.
- Guide users through the ticket submission process, ensuring all requests are properly documented before providing support.
- Troubleshoot and resolve basic hardware and software issues.
- Escalate complex issues to senior IT staff as necessary.
- Ticketing Management:
- Monitor and manage the IT helpdesk system, ensuring all user requests are logged and addressed in a timely manner.
- Track the progress of open tickets and follow up with users as needed.
- Inventory Management:
- Assist with the organization and tracking of IT inventory, including hardware, software, and peripheral equipment.
- Conduct regular inventory audits to ensure accurate records.
- Help manage the lifecycle of IT assets, from procurement to decommissioning.
- Administrative Support:
- Provide general administrative support to the IT department as needed.
- Assist with documentation of IT processes and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Basic knowledge of Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and common IT hardware.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Prior experience in a technical support role or familiarity with ticketing systems is a plus.
