The Sales Manager - Weather Products develops new markets and sales opportunities for NK’s established and trusted products including Kestrel Instruments, Kestrel Heat Stress Trackers, KestrelMet, Rainwise and PVMet weather stations for industry professionals and enthusiasts. Reporting to the Director of Sales, the Sales Manager - Weather Products will research potential customers and resale partners, contact, and nurture successful business relationships in efforts to achieve NK’s sales goals.
The Sales Manager – Weather Products will travel to trade shows, conferences and visit customers and dealers. NK focuses its sales efforts on both B2C and B2B sales channels. This is at-will employment.
Requirements:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Industry & Market Development:
- Responsible for NK’s achievement of sales growth targets through business development initiatives.
- Research potential customers and resale partners, make contact, nurture business relationships, and close sales.
- Create detailed Sales Reports & Presentations with actionable analysis of sales trends, dealer & customer performance, and market opportunities.
- Train new and established dealers on current and new weather product lines and features.
- Build strategic partnerships with safety organizations, regulatory bodies, and key industry leaders to expand awareness of Kestrel’s solutions.
- Represent Kestrel at conferences, trade shows, and safety summits, delivering presentations and participating in panel discussions.
- Monitor regulatory changes and emerging industry trends to position Kestrel products as essential tools for compliance and best practices.
Customer Education & Support:
- Conduct onsite heat stress assessments at workplaces, providing data-driven recommendations to enhance worker safety.
- Develop and deliver training programs for corporate safety teams, distributors, and industry professionals.
- Listen and learn from customers. Observe relevant competing products, services and industry activity. Bring field understanding back to the product management team to enhance product offerings or messaging.
- Provide technical support and product expertise to customers, ensuring they maximize the benefits of Kestrel’s heat stress monitoring solutions.
- Assist in product development feedback loops, gathering insights from real-world applications to inform future product innovations.
Business Growth & Channel Development:
- Identify and cultivate new business opportunities in key markets such as construction, oil & gas, agriculture, manufacturing, transportation, and other target industries. Track opportunities and progress through utilization of NK’s CRM.
- Support dealer and distributor channels, ensuring they have the necessary resources, training, and support to effectively promote Kestrel, KestrelMet and PVMet solutions.
- Collaborate with product management and marketing teams to develop market-specific messaging and outreach strategies.
- Engage in cross-functional collaboration with product management, sales and marketing to align industry needs with Kestrel’s offerings.

Qualifications and Experience
- 4-year degree or equivalent experience.
- 5 years of experience in a business development or sales role, preferably in key markets such as construction, oil & gas, agriculture, manufacturing, transportation, and other target industries..
- Experience selling in worker safety and/or industrial equipment markets.
- Experience with selling to multi-layer distribution channels.
- Proficient in all forms of business communication including written, verbal and in-person.
- Strong computer skills – internet research, email management, task management, Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Fluent in written and spoken English.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities but may develop into a supervisory role.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
Climate-controlled indoor office with attached manufacturing facility. May be required to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, climb or balance. Must be able to drag, lift and/or move up to 40 pounds (suitcase).
Hours of Work
Monday through Friday, 40-hour work week. Some flexibility to set 40-hour schedule around core hours of 10am-4pm. Occasional weekend obligations for trade shows and meetings.
Training
Most training is on-the-job but formal education and training may be provided where appropriate.
Travel / Work Location
Hybrid work environment that consists of remote work and regular need to be in the office (minimum 1 – 2x per week for team collaboration). NK’s facilities are located in Boothwyn, PA. Travel up to 30% (domestic and international) is required for trade shows, customer/dealer meetings and other events. Travel will include both car and air travel and overnight stays
Pay Rate
This is a salaried position. Pay rate commensurate with qualifications and experience as well as company size. Annual bonus based on company and individual performance ranges averages 2% to 5% of compensation.
