Position Overview
The Energy Manager is responsible for safety, sales, hiring, customer relations, daily operations, and collections in the Energy area. As a manager of managers, this person’s success will be dependent upon their ability to lead, coach, and mentor their key managers, administrative support, and crew supervisors. While demonstrating professionalism and ensuring these areas of responsibility are profitable and adhering to all company values.
Area of responsibility include but are not limited to:
- Ash Haul support and disposal
- Powerplant support
- Oil and Gas fields support and operations
- Vac Truck operations
Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
- Safety Leadership – Ability to implement safety best practices, ensure compliance with all safety processes and procedures, and improve overall safety performance measured by the frequency of recordable incidents and levels of employee engagement.
- Cost Management – Prepare operating budget and ensure accurate reporting.
- Production–Oversee and implement process improvements based on the analysis of actual performance data.
- Sales/Customer Service – Partner with Sales Team, or department leads to satisfy customer needs and plan for utilization of quality material and service.
- Leadership Development - Assist with development and training of direct reports.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Qualifications
Education/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering / construction; and 5 to 10 years’ experience in Construction preferred.
- Strong math, mechanical and computer skills with problem solving ability.
- Advanced Level MS Excel, MS Word, HCSS, and PowerPoint
- Experience in process improvement a plus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Self-starter with high level of self-confidence and energy.
Knowledge/Skill Requirements
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos. Ability to write clearly and effectively. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, common fractions, and decimals.
