Salary :

City Gate Accounting emerged from Nienhuis Financial Group and is leading the way in providing a high touch, high customer experience, high transformation Accounting Advisory Service. We are seeking a Part Time Accountant to join our remote work team and be responsible for executing a variety of financial procedures, including month-end and year-end closings, bank reconciliations, general ledger reviews, compile financial statements, review data, ensure financial compliance, analyze client financial operations to ensure the business is running efficiently. This position is fully remote and anticipating 25 - 30 hours per week. The schedule is flexible, but we are looking for consistency largely within standard work days and work hours (ie. not nights and weekends).

Position Responsibilities

For City Gate Accounting clients, using generally accepted accounting principles :

Prepares consolidated financial statements by gathering and analyzing information from the general ledger system and from departments.
Closes client financials monthly, quarterly, or annual as required
Analyzes information and options by developing spreadsheet reports; verifying information
Prepares general ledger entries by maintaining records and files; reconciling accounts.
Prepares payments by accruing expenses; assigning account numbers; requesting disbursements; reconciling accounts.
Develops and implements accounting procedures by analyzing current procedures, recommending changes.
Protects clients value by keeping information confidential.
Accomplishes accounting and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
Other duties as assigned

Excellent organizational skills, high degree of accuracy, and attention to detail

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Extensive knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting

Highly proficient with Quickbooks Online (or other accounting software)

Understanding of, ability to adhere to, and ability to hold others responsible to generally accepted accounting principles

Strong technical and inter-personal communication

Ability to balance multiple priorities, projects, and clients

Exceptional project and time management skills

Ability to work as part of a team or independently as needed

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and computer skills

Customer service orientation

Education and / or Experience

Bachelors Degree in accounting or related field

5 years of related experience including customer service.

CPA / CMA preferred

Experience with ERP systems preferred
