Job Overview
NIFCO is looking for a full time NICET Level 1 (or higher) Fire Sprinkler Designer to join it's growing Lincoln field staff. NIFCO provides design and installation of mechanical systems to its customers and is in need of more skilled fire sprinkler designers who understand the various types of piping systems and their operation. Our fire sprinkler team is able to take the designs given to them from Architects, Engineers & other trades to map out and build an integrated piping system. This set up includes placing all pipe routing & sizing; fixture placement & styles per NFPA Codes; coordination with other trades; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities*
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty & responsibility satisfactorily after training is complete.
Essential Duties
- Selects type and size of pipe, and related materials and equipment, such as supports, hangers, and hydraulic cylinders, according to specifications.
- Inspects work site to determine presence of obstructions and to ascertain that holes cut for pipe will not cause structural weakness.
- Plans installation or repair to avoid obstructions and to avoid interfering with activities of other workers.
- Calculates the hydraulics of the fire sprinkler system to ensure proper function.
- Utilize AutoSprink software to design and layout the fire sprinkler system in accordance with local code.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of jobs designated.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
