Responsibilities and Duties
- Follows specific recipes and instructions to prepare menu items using basic kitchen equipment and preparatory utensils
- Prepares food items according to recipes, instructions and customer orders, and follows food handling and safety requirements
- Retrieves ingredients from appropriate areas by lifting and carrying to food preparation area
- Communicates shortage of menu items to Manager immediately
- Stores incoming food shipments properly in prep room, maintains prep room in a neat, orderly manner and ensures all food items are stored at the appropriate temperature
- Maintains a neat and orderly work area at all times
- Ability to properly operate a meat grinder and slicer
- Properly clean and sanitize equipment after each use
- Reports any health and/or safety concerns/violations immediately to management
- Complete daily and weekly cleaning projects
- Other additional tasks management may need assistance with
Qualifications & Requirements
- Ability to read and follow directions.
- Ability to place items on high and low shelves.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to withstand cold temperatures for long periods of time.
- Capable of using knives, slicing equipment, fryers, and other preparation materials.
- Organization skills
- Carry objects up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to wipe high and low shelves, pick up debris off the floor, sweep floor in station.
