Responsibilities :
Conduct physical examinations and record patient medical histories.
Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as blood work and imaging studies.
Develop and implement treatment plans, including prescribing medications and therapies.
Perform procedures like suturing wounds and administering injections.
Educate patients on preventive care and healthy lifestyle choices.
Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records.
Requirements :
Valid Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner license in VA.
Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program.
Proficient in medical terminology and documentation practices.
Knowledge of anatomy and physiology for accurate patient assessment.
Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality.
Experience with electronic health record systems (e.g., ECW).
Ability to perform physical examinations and assess vital signs accurately.
Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
Prior experience in primary care or a related field preferred.
Interest in clinical research is a plus.
Spanish-speaking is an asset.
PALS and ACLS Certifications required.
