Nightforce Optics is looking for a Facilities Maintenance Technician to grow our team! This position is responsible for performing routine maintenance on buildings, machines, and grounds, to include minor electrical, plumbing, and carpentry tasks including ground maintenance and special projects.

What you will be doing : Essential Job Duties

  • Performs preventative maintenance at all locations in Idaho including Orofino, Cottonwood, Riggins, and Meridian.
  • Clean building and grounds as needed, including but not limited to, shoveling snow, de-icing walkways, taking care of lawn maintenance.
  • Completes routine maintenance on processing equipment including sharpening blades, greasing and lubing, and inspecting and repairing electrical panels
  • Performs basic maintenance on plumbing, electrical, mechanical and control systems including related components; tests system competency and component devices and evaluates performance.
  • Repairs and maintains a variety of facilities systems, components and structures; repairs building plumbing, door hardware, fire safety protection equipment / systems, sprinkler systems, sensors and related hardware and software; constructs and maintains indoor / outdoor facilities, fans, lights and related; conducts structural inspections for safety.
  • Maintains induction and air handling units; cleans and inspects all equipment, completes filter changes, lubricates, maintains and services mechanical and refrigeration and / or cooling systems.
  • Sizes, lays-out and installs waste, vent, and domestic water distribution systems, welds or fabricates plates, brackets or needed devices.
  • Identifies repair and maintenance projects requiring the assistance of contractors or vendors.
  • Maintains a broad working knowledge of materials, systems and code requirements related to maintenance of all facilities.
  • Responds to company closures including adverse weather to ensure that all facilities are protected and remain operational. Assists with tasks required in preparing to open buildings after a closure including snow and ice removal, systems and equipment checks, and start-up operations as assigned.
  • Knows and understands all safety procedures of the organization. Trains less-skilled staff on safety procedures related to FMS operations. Assists in structural safety inspections.
  • Operates a company vehicle and is responsible for its safe operation and reporting any observed maintenance needs. Operate machinery and vehicles, as assigned, including Bobcat or Forklift, Snorkel man lift or company pickup truck / trailer
  • Performs any carpentry, painting, and other maintenance
  • Maintains appropriate records and reports.

What we need from you : Required Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2 years of experience in a maintenance role or carpentry
  • Experience in building and ground maintenance
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing, and carpentry
  • Must have the ability to communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing
  • Work independently with minimal supervision

  • Physical Requirements :

  • Work is performed both indoors and outdoors with exposure to various weather conditions.
  • May be exposed to potentially hazardous conditions, noise and temperature extremes.
  • Position involves frequent bending, standing, kneeling, climbing ladders, reaching below and above shoulders, and lifting objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Wrist, hand and finger dexterity is required to operate various equipment and materials
  • Must be able to use paints, solvents, fluids, etc., as tasks require
