Job Responsibilities:
- Undertake basic duties with the ability to learn or train on more complex duties
- Perform routine kitchen tasks
- Ensure that all food and other items are stored properly
- Maintain the dishwashing machine throughout the shift ( wash and sanitize dishes and equipment)
- Keep the work area organized
- Scrapie and sorting food waste from dirty dishes/meal trays
- Rise and spray dishes prior to feeding into the dishwasher
- Sort cutlery and kitchen utensils in soaking bucket prior to washing
- Organize dishes into piles and dishwasher racks to be processed into the automated dishwasher
- Transport dishes to storage shelving and/ meal service area as needed
- Comply with nutrition and sanitation guidelines
- Perform other kitchen duties as assigned
Full and part time hours available.
Qualifications / Skills:
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced environment
- Knowledge of health and safety rules in a kitchen
- Knowledge of food and work station sanitation
- Organizational skills
- Patience
- Communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to stand for shift and lift 40 pounds
Education and Experience Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent is desirable
- Training from a culinary school is an asset
- Proven experience as a prep cook is an asset
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 35 per week
